Inner Truth and Pure Music with Transgender Music Artist Jolliff Seville

Published by Marcus Hart

Growing up in a religious family Jolliff Seville shared how he could hear the whisper of what his truth was despite the pressures of very stern traditional values. The classics of great music such as from artists like Luther Vandross are one of many whom Jolliff can identify with as he can recall listening to in his youth and remembering how artists like Vandross faced many hurdles when he begins to openly discuss his sexuality.
Likewise, with more popular openly hip hop transgender queer artists arising like Young MA who are very unapologetic, this has invited Jolliff to champion his own voice as an activist with this great receptiveness in the LGBTQ community he has been embraced by.
Jolliff was internalizing feelings and those feelings were a block to what he should be doing with his life. Every time he tried to do something he was corrected. He was unhappy living with this taboo of what being a "black woman" is supposed to look and act like.
Jolliff Seville puts this same energy of sticking to what is truly inner truth and happiness of purpose into his music and this captures the pure original nature of the music and artistry. This profound level of consciousness is what he refers to as being able to educate oneself and being free to express yourself in the way you choose to without worry of recourse.
In terms of spirituality, both the host and Jolliff can honestly agree that homophobic messages in the church or anywhere for that matter are not very loving, inclusive, and considerate of an individual's true life path, which is why Jolliff can respectfully say he feels comfortable not having all the answers and feels at peace lending them over to the proper energies and something higher than himself.
Final Closing and Wrap-up
"[Free will doesn't guarantee that you won't have peace, but sticking to your own inner truth will help you understand yourself and find your community to have a life-changing experience,]..." says Jolliff.
Blogger Opinion
As we continue to witness many people in the religious community and sadly individuals of the religious community too (yes, even non-believers) demonize the LGBTQ community and treat them unfairly. I dare ask, is it because we can't hear our own whisper and rather pay so close to that of someone's pushed agenda that was pushed on us and missed the finer details of the tradition of the universal golden rule of peace and love unto all humanity. We continue to fall short even in our own transformation journey. Tolerance isn't sleeping in someone's bed every night. However, if you look around at the rate we are going with everything going on in this world soon it won't even matter because we will consume ourselves or maybe some--thing!
